Why is this here?
I once read a business book that advised that one should never eat alone. Sometimes the lunch break is the only chance I have to be alone and I use it as an escape.
But often lunch is an opportunity to meet offsite with co-workers, friends, my husband, or other business people and share much more than a meal. I belong to a group of intelligent, caring women who meet once a week. People drift in and out, sometimes there may be a dozen of us, sometimes only two, but it is always enjoyable, relaxing, and we laugh and we cry together.
Oh, and if we can have a good meal, that's always nice too. All we expect is a reasonable price, good food, and the kind of excellent customer service that includes an understanding of our needs - friendliness, accuracy, separate checks, and get us out of here so we can get back to work in an hour.
